The Ottawa Charge have ensured stability between the pipes for the upcoming Professional Women’s Hockey League season, re-signing goaltender Kendra Woodland to a one-year contract for 2026-27.
The move is another significant step in Woodland’s remarkable hockey journey and provides the Charge with additional depth and familiarity in net as the club prepares for another push toward a Walter Cup championship.
Woodland, a native of Kamloops, British Columbia, earned her opportunity with Ottawa after impressing during training camp and securing a roster spot ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Her signing marked a historic milestone, as she became the first player from Kamloops to reach the PWHL level.
By bringing Woodland back for another season, Ottawa retains a goaltender who is familiar with the organization's culture and expectations. The re-signing also comes at an important time for the Charge, who have worked to maintain key pieces of their roster during the league's expansion process. Woodland was among four players re-signed by the club this week, alongside veteran defenders Kathryn Reilly and Jocelyne Larocque, and forward Kateřina Mrázová.
Now, with a new contract in hand, Woodland will look to continue her development and help the Charge remain among the league's top contenders when the 2026-27 season begins.
