The TRU WolfPack Men's Soccer team is heading into the 2026 Canada West season with a familiar goal, take another step forward and establish themselves as a serious contender in the conference.

With head coach John Antulov continuing to build the program, the WolfPack enter the new season with a blend of returning players, local talent and an ambitious recruiting class that could give the team plenty of new options across the pitch.

TRU has put an emphasis on adding versatility and athleticism to its roster this offseason, bringing in players capable of contributing at multiple positions.

One of the newest additions is defender Nelson Idris, who joins the WolfPack after coming through Faly FC and KUFC. Idris is described by Antulov as a quick, technically gifted defender who can play anywhere along the backline.

He's part of a larger 2026 recruiting class that features players from across Canada and internationally, including former academy players with experience in England, Germany and other high-level environments.

Among the new faces is Aiden Muzio, a box-to-box midfielder who Antulov believes can make an immediate impact, while Lee Robinson adds another attacking option with his ability to take defenders one-on-one.

The WolfPack have also added international experience, with players such as James Rainbird, who spent time with Everton, Crewe Alexandra and Wrexham, while other newcomers arrive with backgrounds in European academies and high-level Canadian soccer.

That influx of talent will be competing with a group of returning players who already understand what Antulov expects from his squad.

Players such as defender Liam Freathy, midfielder Lucas Rinaldi and forward Lachlan Will bring valuable experience back to the group. Will, in particular, enters the season after gaining experience in professional academies in France and Spain and spending time with Wacker Nordhausen in Germany.

For TRU, the challenge will be turning all of that individual talent into a cohesive team.
