WolfPack Women’s Soccer Advance to Canada West Final Four with Win Over Saskatchewan

The TRU Wolfpack women’s soccer team is heading to the Canada West Final Four. The Wolfpack defeated the Saskatchewan Huskies 3-1 at Hillside Stadium on Sunday in their quarter final matchup, earning a berth in the conference’s final four.
Esi Lufo led the way with two goals, while Sara Kuusimaki also found the back of the net in the win.
TRU now travels to Vancouver to face the University of Victoria on Thursday. A victory would send the Wolfpack to U Sports nationals, which will be held in Vancouver from November 12 to 15.
Head coach Mark Pennington said the group believed in its potential from the start of the season. “When we came together at the beginning of August we thought that we had a special group here. Our objective was to go as far as we can and now we have one or potentially two shots at going to nationals and that’s going to be our objective.”
