The TRU WolfPack women’s volleyball team pushed the No. 2 ranked Université de Sherbrooke Vert & Or to the limit on Friday, falling 3-2 in their first ever appearance at the U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball National Championship in Langley.

The WolfPack showed resilience throughout the quarterfinal matchup. After trailing the match two sets to one, The Pack' clawed back to force a decisive fifth set against the Quebec champions. TRU carried that momentum into the final set, jumping out to an 8-2 lead before Sherbrooke rallied late to secure the win.

Fourth year outside hitter Rida Erlalelitepe led the WolfPack with an outstanding performance, recording 20 kills and earning TRU’s Player of the Game honours.

The national championship appearance marks a historic moment for the program as this was their first ever time competing on the U SPORTS national stage.
