Season Preview: Wolfpack Women’s Basketball Opens 2026-27 Season Looking to Climb the Pacific Division

The TRU Wolfpack women’s basketball team open their 2026-27 Canada West season with a roster full of returning experience and a clear goal in mind, moving up the Pacific
Division standings after a 2025-26 campaign that finished 8-12 overall. The standings did not always tell the full story last season, with the Wolfpack sitting just two wins away from a third place finish in the Pacific, and that closeness gives this group something concrete to build toward.
The returning core is the foundation of that push. Third year forward Morgan Eichenberger from Kamloops enters her most important season yet, bringing size and local familiarity to a front court that will need her to step up. Alongside her in the backcourt, third year guard Kylee Koppes, also a Kamloops product out of South Kamloops Secondary, returns for another year in the system she knows well. Fourth year guard Sydney Vollrath from St. Albert, Alberta adds veteran steadiness to a group that needs leadership from its experienced players, while second year guard Olena Vasylenko from Ukraine and 6'0 guard Hailey Merrigan from Melbourne, Australia bring international flavour and athleticism to the roster.
The Wolfpack are also being led by interim head coach Scott Clark this season, who steps into the role with a full coaching staff around him.
With depth, returning experience and a clear sense of where they stand in the division, the Wolfpack open their Canada West season this weekend.
