The TRU Wolfpack men’s basketball team enter the 2026-27 Canada West season with genuine playoff expectations after one of their stronger campaigns in recent memory. Last year the Wolfpack finished 14-14 overall and 12-8 in conference play, earning a spot in the Canada West Play-In game before falling to the University of Calgary. The experience of playing meaningful basketball late in the season gives this group a foundation to build from.

Much of that core returns. Fifth year guard Jayden Stephens comes back as the team’s leading scorer and arrives fresh off a Canada West Second Team All-Star selection, the kind of individual recognition that reflects how dangerous he can be night in and night out.

Alongside him in the backcourt is fifth year guard Dami Farinloye from Winnipeg, a 6'3 guard who was a Manitoba provincial champion and MHSAA Player of the Year before arriving in Kamloops and has grown into one of the veteran leaders of this program.

Adding a local flavour to the returnees is Cason Scott, a product of the Kamloops area who earned a spot on the Canada West All-Rookie Team in his first season. Scott enters his sophomore year with a full year of Canada West experience under his belt and will be expected to take on a larger role.

Head coach Chad Jacobson has the pieces in place for another playoff push. The Wolfpack open their Canada West season on the road this weekend at UNBC.
