For WolfPack Men's Volleyball, the momentum from last season’s strong finish carries into a new campaign that begins October 17th in Calgary. A busy preseason filled with tournaments will set the stage for the Canada West grind, and TRU enters with added depth and talent across the roster.
Head coach Patrick Hennelly believes the group has the balance to take a step forward after last year’s 9–15 record. With several returning contributors and three dynamic new outside hitters, the lineup is shaping up to be competitive from top to bottom.
“This year we have three dynamic new players Jordan Fulljames, a college transfer from Prince George, along with Max Vernimore and Daniel Hitchens from New Zealand,” Hennelly said. “All three are outside hitters who bring a lot of depth and talent to the roster. We are looking at continuing to build off the momentum and strong play from the second half of last year. We have a lot of talented second and third year players vying to get on the court. Alex Howard has looked strong in training along with Brandon Johnson and Walker Sodaro. We sent the message that summer training in the weight room is important for a quick start to the season.”
October will be road-heavy with trips to Calgary, Mount Royal, MacEwan and UBC Okanagan before the team returns home for its opener at the Tournament Capital Centre on Halloween. With depth, experience, and a promising group of young players, the WolfPack are looking to push higher in a tough Canada West conference.
