With two games left in the KIJHL regular season, the Kamloops Storm are still alive in the race for the Prestige Cup. The math is tight, the margin is thin, and every point matters.

Here is where things stand heading into the final weekend:

Kimberley Dynamiters sit first with 66 points in 43 games.

Revelstoke Grizzlies are second with 65 points in 42 games.

Kamloops Storm are third with 64 points in 42 games.

Beaver Valley Nitehawks are fourth with 64 points in 42 games.

Revelstoke currently holds the advantage. If the Grizzlies win both of their remaining games, they secure first overall regardless of what Kamloops does. That is the scenario the Storm cannot control, what they can control is their own two games.

If Revelstoke earns three of a possible four points this weekend, and the Storm win both of their games, Kamloops would jump into first and claim the Prestige Cup. Any slip by the Grizzlies opens the door. Two Storm wins keeps pressure squarely on Revelstoke.

The Storm begin the weekend tonight at home against the Quesnel River Rush in their final regular season game at McArthur Island. They then travel to Osoyoos on Saturday night to close out the regular season against the Coyotes.

It is simple. Win both. Then watch the out of town scoreboard.

Beyond the Prestige Cup race, playoff positioning is still fluid. As it stands, the Storm could face one of four potential opponents in round one: the Osoyoos Coyotes, Chase Heat, Sicamous Eagles, or 100 Mile House Wranglers. Seeding will be finalized once the final horn sounds across the league Saturday night.

Kamloops has already clinched playoff hockey. Now the focus shifts to whether they can cap off the regular season on top of the KIJHL.
