Soccer fans in Kamloops will have a chance to come together and cheer on Team Canada today as the FIFA World Cup excitement continues with a community watch party at Riverside Park.
The City of Kamloops is hosting a free public viewing of Canada's Group B matchup against Qatar at Riverside park, part of a summer long celebration that will see all 104 FIFA World Cup matches shown on the big screen in the park.
With Canada opening the tournament with a draw against Bosnia Herzegovina, today's match carries added importance as the Canadians look to secure a crucial victory in front of a home crowd at BC Place. A win would significantly strengthen Canada's chances of advancing out of the group stage.
The watch party is expected to bring together soccer supporters of all ages, creating a festival atmosphere in the heart of Kamloops. Fans are encouraged to wear red and white, bring friends and family, and join fellow supporters in backing Canada's national team as they take on Qatar.
The Canada vs Qatar match today is set to begin at 3pm.
