The Kamloops Storm have announced their leadership group for the 2025/26 KIJHL season, naming Nolan MacPherson as team captain.

MacPherson, a steady presence on the ice and in the dressing room, has earned the captaincy through his combination of grit, defensive responsibility, and leadership qualities. Entering his third year with the Storm, he has become a model of work ethic and accountability — the kind of leader teammates rally around.

"It's truly an honour. I've been fortunate to be surrounded by tremendous leaders throughout my life and I've learned so much from them." Says MacPherson.

"Having the opportunity to set an example for my team is a great privilege. I'm excited to see what we can accomplish together. Everyone is eager to go the extra mile and the energy within our group is inspiring."

Supporting him will be a strong group of alternates: forwards David Ander, Teghan Mullin, Luca D’Amore, and Hayden Selin, along with defenseman Wyatt Olson. Together, they bring a blend of character, production, and commitment that reflects the identity of this year’s Storm.

Ander, one of the team’s most reliable two-way forwards, has been a mainstay up front and is respected for his veteran presence. Mullin, a tenacious competitor, adds energy and drive that sets the tone for the group. D’Amore, who led the Storm in playoff scoring last spring, brings offensive firepower and a proven ability to step up in big moments. Selin, a playmaker with high hockey IQ, is admired for his unselfish approach and team first attitude. On the back end, Olson provides calm and steady leadership on the blue line, anchoring the defensive core with maturity beyond his years.

With MacPherson wearing the ‘C’ and a balanced group of alternates backing him up, the Storm head into the new season with a leadership core built to guide both veterans and newcomers alike.

They open the season tonight, at home against the Chase Heat with puck drop set for 7pm.
