Luca D'Amore named new Captain of the Kamloops Storm

The Kamloops Storm have officially turned the page to a new chapter of leadership.

The club announced that veteran forward Luca D'Amore has been named captain for the upcoming 2026-27 season, taking over the role from Nolan MacPherson, who aged out following the conclusion of last season.

D'Amore steps into the leadership position after establishing himself as one of the Storm's most dependable players both on and off the ice. Known for his work ethic, consistency and team-first mentality, he now becomes the player tasked with leading Kamloops into its first season under the newly sanctioned BCHC Junior A banner.

Replacing a captain is never an easy task, especially after MacPherson helped guide the Storm through a memorable campaign, but D'Amore brings plenty of experience and respect within the dressing room. His commitment to the organization and willingness to lead by example made him a natural choice for the role.

The captaincy represents another milestone in D'Amore's junior hockey career, as he'll now wear the "C" while helping mentor a new wave of Storm players looking to make their mark in Kamloops.

D’Amore finished last season with 26G and 31A (57pts) in 44 games.
