Soccer in Kamloops is entering a new chapter.
The league that Kamloops United FC competes in has officially been rebranded. League1 British Columbia will now operate as the British Columbia Premier League, aligning with a new national identity across Canada’s top semi professional soccer structure and the Canadian Premier League (CPL).

The change is part of a country wide rebrand announced by Premier Soccer Leagues Canada, formerly League1 Canada, aimed at creating a clearer and more unified domestic pathway across the men’s and women’s game.
For Kamloops United FC, the rebrand does not change the level of competition, but it does modernize how the league is presented nationally. The British Columbia Premier League now aligns in name and identity with the Ontario Premier League and Alberta Premier League, with a Prairies Premier League set to launch in 2026.
From a local perspective, Kamloops United FC continues to compete in the same high level environment, while benefiting from a more consistent national structure and branding. The updated league identity is designed to better reflect the importance of this tier within Canadian soccer development and improve visibility across the country.
Kamloops United FC remains the city’s top men’s and women’s soccer club, providing players from Kamloops and the Interior with the opportunity to compete at a provincial and national standard without leaving British Columbia.
