Jonathan Rinaldi signs with Grupo Desportivo São Roque in Portugal

Kamloops’ own Jonathan Rinaldi has taken another step in his European soccer journey, signing with Grupo Desportivo São Roque in Portugal.

Rinaldi spent last season with AA Avanca in the AF Aveiro Campeonato SABSEG, one of Portugal’s highly competitive regional divisions, where he enjoyed a successful first season and tallied three assists. São Roque, newly promoted to the same league, wasted no time targeting the Kamloops midfielder. Their coach had been impressed with Rinaldi’s performances last season and made him a priority signing.

The move places Rinaldi in an ambitious club with strong resources and a vision to continue climbing the Portuguese football pyramid. Located just 30 minutes outside of Porto, São Roque provides an ideal environment for the former Wolfpack, KUFC, and Sahali midfielder to further develop his game while contributing to a team hungry to prove itself at the next level.
