The Kamloops Blazers are closing in on a return to the WHL playoffs as the regular season enters its final stretch.
With five games remaining, Kamloops sits fifth in the Western Conference with 70 points through 63 games, holding a strong position inside the top eight that qualify for the postseason. If the Blazers secure their spot, it will mark the franchise’s first playoff appearance since the 2022-23 season, when the Blazers hosted the Memorial Cup at the Sandman Centre.
Several teams remain behind Kamloops in the standings battling for the final playoff positions, but the Blazers are in a good position heading into the final stretch.
The Blazers now turn their attention to a key weekend series against the 2026 Memorial Cup host Kelowna Rockets. The BC Division rivals will meet in a home and home doubleheader, beginning Friday night in Kelowna before shifting to the Sandman Centre on Saturday night for the second half of the series. The Rockets sit near the top of the Western Conference standings and has already secured a playoff spot, setting up a strong test for a Kamloops team preparing for the postseason.
