Hurlbert to honour commitment to the University of Michigan

For most NHL Draft prospects, the weeks leading up to draft day are filled with uncertainty. For JP Hurlbert, however, one thing remains clear regardless of where he is selected later this month, he plans to honour his commitment to the University of Michigan next season.
The Kamloops Blazers forward recently returned from the NHL Combine, where he told Radio NL about his plans to honour his commitment to the University of Michigan.
The 18-year-old is expected to hear his name called during the NHL Draft on June 26-27 in Buffalo, where many of the game's top young players will gather to take the next step in their hockey careers.
While draft status and professional opportunities will soon come into focus, Hurlbert's immediate plans remain unchanged. The highly regarded prospect is set to continue his development at the University of Michigan next season, one of college hockey's premier programs.
Before that transition takes place, Hurlbert will have one more opportunity to represent the Kamloops Blazers organization that helped shape his path to the professional ranks. As draft day approaches, the next chapter is beginning to take shape, one thing is clear, JP Hurlbert will always be a Kamloops Blazer.
