Kamloops Blazers forward J.P. Hurlbert continues to make waves across the Canadian Hockey League, earning a spot on Team CHL for the upcoming 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge.

The annual showcase, set to bring together the top young talent from across Canada and the United States, will give Hurlbert the chance to represent both the Blazers and the Western Hockey League on one of junior hockey’s biggest stages.

Hurlbert’s selection comes as little surprise given his outstanding start to the season. The Allen, Texas native has been a dynamic presence in the Blazers’ lineup. Whether creating offense off the rush or finding open teammates in tight spaces, he’s quickly become one of Kamloops’ most reliable and exciting forwards.

For Hurlbert, the honor represents another milestone in a season that’s already turning heads across the league. After scoring a hat trick in his WHL debut earlier this year, he’s continued to impress scouts and fans alike with his consistency and poise under pressure.

The CHL-USA Prospects Challenge will not only showcase Hurlbert’s talent on an international stage but also give him valuable experience heading into the heart of the WHL season.
