Wyatt Brook’s golfing journey just took a major leap forward.

The 26-year-old from Kamloops delivered a clutch performance on Wednesday at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington, firing a 4 under 67 to win the U.S. Amateur final qualifier outright. Brook’s impressive round earned him the solo lead and a coveted spot in the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship, set for August 11–17 at the iconic Olympic Club in San Francisco.

“It still hasn’t totally sunk in,” said Brook after the round. “I knew I needed to stay patient out there. The conditions were tough but the putter felt good again and I’m obviously happy with the result.”

Brook’s calm presence and precise play stood out on the championship level layout at Chambers Bay — a course known for its rolling fairways, deep bunkers, and mental demands. Staying steady throughout, Brook carded birdies at key moments to separate himself from the field and claim the top qualifying spot.

His victory marks a milestone in his competitive career, sending him to the U.S. Amateur, the most prestigious event in amateur golf and a launching pad for many of the game’s legends. This year’s championship will take place at The Olympic Club, a storied venue that has hosted multiple major championships and will be celebrating its own historic legacy as it welcomes the world’s top amateurs.

With a place in the field now secured, Brook will spend the next two weeks preparing for the biggest event of his career. For him, and for his growing local fanbase, the opportunity is massive: a strong showing in the U.S. Amateur can open the door to professional exemptions, national team consideration, and, for the winner, an invitation to compete at the 2026 Masters at Augusta National.
