Gage Androlick One Win Away from Worlds Gold as All Three Canadian Teams Reach Finals in Spain

It is going to be a late night in Kamloops. Local athlete Gage Androlick and Team Canada's Mixed squad have punched their ticket to the gold medal game at the U20 Ultimate Frisbee World Championships in Spain, with the game tipping off at 3:00 AM Kamloops time Saturday morning.

The achievement is made even more remarkable by what is happening around Androlick. All three Canadian teams competing at the tournament, the Open, Women's and Mixed squads, have fought their way through to their respective gold medal games, putting Canada in a position to sweep all three world titles in a single day.

Androlick's Mixed team has been nothing short of dominant throughout the week, going undefeated across all eight games played on their way to the final. Androlick himself has been a key contributor, racking up six assists and two goals over the course of the tournament.

Androlick, who earlier this year became the first male athlete from Kamloops ever selected for a Team Canada Ultimate Frisbee U20 squad, will take the field as part of the Mixed team which serves as the showcase match of the championships. The game will be broadcast live and free for anyone wanting to set their alarm and cheer Gage on from home.

His coaches and family will be watching. Kamloops should be too.
