TRU Men & Women's Basketball complete weekend sweep over UNBC

The WolfPack Men and Women’s basketball teams returned to Kamloops with plenty of momentum after both clubs recorded weekend sweeps over the UNBC Timberwolves in Canada West play.

The Women’s team opened the weekend with a strong performance on Friday night, controlling the pace early and building a steady lead through consistent defensive pressure and balanced scoring. TRU followed it up on Saturday with another complete effort to secure the sweep. The WolfPack recorded a 53-44 win on Friday and a 65-57 win on Saturday.

The Men’s team matched that success, earning a pair of hard fought wins in two physical matchups. Friday’s game saw TRU establish control in the paint and dictate tempo, while Saturday’s rematch required a late push, with the WolfPack executing in the fourth quarter to pull away and complete the sweep. The final scores were 77-60 on Friday and 78-76 on Saturday, of course both in favour of the WolfPack.

With both teams collecting a pair of wins, the results provide a boost as the regular season enters its final stretch. The WolfPack now turn their attention to maintaining their momentum and strengthening their playoff positioning in the Canada West standings.
