Logan Stankoven makes history tonight.
Stankoven continues to shine in the National Hockey League playoffs, becoming the youngest player in league history to open the postseason with a five-game goal streak. In a time of year where space is limited and every inch of ice is earned, Stankoven has found a way to do what few can: score consistently when it matters most.
Logan opened the scoring for the Hurricanes yet again tonight, before scoring another later on in the game to help the Canes to a 3-0 win over the Flyers.
What makes the streak even more impressive is the context. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are known for tight checking, physical battles, and elite goaltending, a far cry from the open ice of the regular season. Yet, game after game, Stankoven has delivered, showing a maturity beyond his years.
With five straight games and counting, Stankoven isn’t just riding a hot streak, he’s becoming one of the defining stories of this year’s playoffs.
