For the first time in the club's League1 BC history, Kamloops United FC are bringing home a trophy. On Sunday at Hillside Stadium, KUFC finished up the great work they did in Leg 1 and secured a 10-6 aggregate win over Nanaimo United FC to claim the 2025 Reid Davidson Charity Shield.

The Women's Team lost 2-1in a close match, but the Men's Team earned a huge 3-1 win with two goals from TRU Forward, Lachlan Will. This victory also pushes the Men's Team closer to a League1 Playoff Berth.

The Reid Davidson Charity Shield is more than just silverware. Named in honour of Reid Davidson—a beloved figure in BC’s soccer community—the competition represents a connection between two clubs and two cities. Reid grew up playing in Kamloops, developing through the Select Program before moving to Vancouver Island to play at VIU. His passion for the game led him to Nanaimo United FC, where he continued giving back to the sport before his passing.

Now in its second year, the Shield symbolizes community, growth, and remembrance. Last season, Nanaimo lifted the inaugural trophy. This year, it was Kamloops’ turn—an emotional and meaningful triumph that will be remembered far beyond the final score.

For the club, it’s a landmark achievement. For the city, a proud moment. And for the memory of Reid Davidson, it was a fitting tribute—shared by the two clubs that meant the world to him, and now united in honouring him through the beautiful game.
