Hicketts earns NHL recall with Los Angeles

Joe Hicketts has been recalled to the Los Angeles Kings, earning another NHL opportunity after a strong stretch with the Ontario Reign in the AHL.

The veteran defenceman has been a key piece for the Reign this season, wearing the captain’s “C” and providing steady play on the back end. Through 41 games, Hicketts has recorded 14 points while logging important minutes in all situations.

The recall follows his recent appearance at the Spengler Cup, where he captained Team Canada in international competition. That experience adds to an already established leadership role he has held with Ontario throughout the season.

Los Angeles is set to face the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday night. It remains unclear whether Hicketts will enter the lineup, but his recall gives the Kings added depth on the blue line ahead of the matchup.
