After four strong seasons with the TRU WolfPack and a recent campaign anchoring the KUFC backline in League1 BC, Mikkel Rosenlund has officially signed a professional contract in his native Denmark with Hørsholm-Usserød Idrætsklub.
Rosenlund made his pro debut last weekend in the Danish 3rd Division vs Nykøbing FC, marking the next step in a journey that took shape right here in Kamloops.
“It feels good to be back home,” said Rosenlund. “The level over here is really good and it’s a professional environment. I’m thankful for my years in Kamloops and how it developed me as both a player and a person.”
This past summer, the Danish defender was a key piece for Kamloops’ KUFC squad, earning League1 BC Team of the Week honours and serving as a leader along the backline.
At the university level, Rosenlund left a lasting legacy. He was instrumental in helping TRU capture a national championship and built a reputation as one of the WolfPack’s most reliable and versatile players.
“Mikkel has been a standout for four years at TRU,” said WolfPack Head Coach John Antulov. “A strong, tough-tackling defender that can also go forward and lead the attack. His versatility and strong play helped us win a national championship, and he will always be a member of the Pack.”
Rosenlund is the latest name in a growing list of TRU and KUFC alumni to make the jump to the professional ranks in Europe and abroad over the past year.
