The Kamloops NorthPaws are off to a promising start to their 2025 West Coast League season. After opening the year on the road against the Port Angeles Lefties, the NorthPaws are undefeated with a 3–0 record as they prepare for their next series vs the Bellingham Bells. The home opener is set for Friday, June 6, at Dearborn Ford Field at NorBrock Stadium, where they’ll face the Kelowna Falcons.
It’s been an exciting start for a team that’s looking to compete in a competitive Northern Division. The NorthPaws’ roster has a strong local presence this year, featuring five players who call Kamloops home — the most the team has ever had.
Leading the local contingent is Nolan Austin, a veteran presence who has been a mainstay with the NorthPaws. Joining him is Manny Recchi, a standout on the mound and in the outfield, bringing versatility and experience. Dylan Dekker provides stability in the infield after gaining valuable collegiate experience this past year. Matthew MacDonald adds depth behind the plate and across multiple positions, while newcomer Austin Coyle offers another boost to the lineup with his consistent bat and defensive skills.
The team is guided by Kamloops native Reily Jepson, who stepped into the head coaching role this season. His leadership, combined with the strong local connection on the roster, has created a sense of pride and excitement around the club.
With the NorthPaws tied for first place in the WCL North Division early in the season, there’s plenty of optimism heading into the home opener. Fans can expect a competitive atmosphere and a team that’s eager to continue building momentum in front of their hometown crowd.
