Kamloops' own Norah Bell officially made her NCAA Division 1 debut yesterday, helping Arizona State University secure a 2-0 win over Nevada. The rising midfielder continues to impress on her journey to the next level after committing to ASU last year.

Norah’s development has included time with the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, as well as two standout summers with Kamloops United FC in League1 BC. This past season, she was named Player of the Match in one game and earned a League1 BC Team of the Week selection.

“I was super happy to be out on the pitch yesterday with such an amazing group,” said Bell following her debut. “I’m super excited for the rest of the season.”

She joins a strong Sun Devils roster that includes several Canadians, including Ava Wright of Coldstream, who suited up in League1 BC last season for KUFC (then Rivers FC).

Arizona State faces a major test next week against NCAA powerhouse Texas.

Bell is a product of the Kamloops youth soccer system and trained under John Antulov at the Whitecaps Academy Centre in Kamloops. Her journey is the latest example of Kamloops’ growing reputation for developing talent capable of reaching the sport’s highest levels.
