Kamloops product Fiona Poole continues to build an impressive international resume, recently representing the Republic of Ireland at the UEFA Women’s U17 European Qualifiers.

Ireland was drawn into a challenging group alongside Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, giving Poole the opportunity to test herself against some of the top young players in Europe. She featured off the bench against Denmark, adding another international appearance to her growing list.

“It was a great experience at the European Qualifiers playing with and against some of the top U17 players in Europe,” Poole said.

This latest call up is just another step in what has been a consistent run with Ireland’s youth national teams. Over the past two years, Poole has been involved across multiple age groups. Last season, she competed with the U16 squad, travelling to Spain for international friendlies against Switzerland, and also took part in a UEFA Development Tournament in Finland. She has also spent time with the group in Italy.

Back home, Poole is currently a student at South Kamloops Secondary. After developing locally in Kamloops, she has since made the move to compete in the BCSPL with Okanagan United FC, continuing to elevate her game against top competition in the province.

With international experience already under her belt and a clear path ahead, Poole has her sights set on playing at the university level while pursuing her education, with the long term goal of pushing toward a professional career.
